We have New Zealand’s largest collection of animals and are recognised as one of the most progressive zoos in the world. A winner of national and international environmental-related awards, the zoo is home to 117 different species and over 700 animals.
Being a volunteer gives you an opportunity to share your interest in wildlife and conservation with zoo visitors. It also offers a fantastic opportunity to meet and work with a wide range of people as well as gaining an insight into the conservation and education focus of the zoo. Volunteer work is primarily people-focused; however, volunteers may have the chance to assist the keepers.
Intern Duties
As a volunteer, you will need to be at least 18 years of age. We are seeking volunteers who:
