It is a free next-gen app designed to connect readers and writers. Our news reporting platform empowers writers to get their voice out there and provide readers with a free, simple tool to navigate the world we live in – by putting the news at their fingertips. We believe there’s room for facts in the digital age, and that high-quality content deserves more eyes. Our app allows journalists, writers, and content creators of all sorts to publish their own news stories as ‘briephs’ – short and crisp 30-second summaries, free of clickbait noise and clutter.
Our Vision
Our vision is to propel constructive, informative, independent journalism to the frontline of news reporting. We’re out to empower writers to rise above the clickbait noise and give facts a voice. And most importantly, we’re here to provide readers with a simple tool to navigate the world we live in, by putting the news at their fingertips.
Responsibilities:
Stretch your writing legs – research and write quality ‘breiphs’ for the app across a wide range of subject areas.
Hone your interview skills and chase down interesting angles and facts for your writing
Create content for our digital partners – learn how to take a brief and create content that is brand-aligned and on-message.
Work on social media briephs and create content for various brands – news, special interest, and other formats.
Work with the broader marketing team, assisting with a variety of marketing and communications activities as required.
The talent we’re looking for will:

Be curious and interested in what’s happening here in NZ and across the world
Be in their penultimate or last year of a journalism or communications degree
Have a keen interest in digital media and how ‘we’ consume information
Have exceptional written and verbal skills
Be interested in the many forms and formats of communication
Be a team player
