Piha Day trip – Organised by New Zealand Internships
Does the name “Piha” ring a bell? Piha beach, the film location of the popular nation-wide TV series ‘Piha Rescue’ is famous for Lion Rock , its consistently good surf breaks and the black sand that is formed as a result of high-iron content caused by volcanic activity in the area. Even if you don’t know Piha from TV, you might have heard of it as being New Zealand’s favourite surf beach. While at the beach, you can choose to simply relax, kick a ball around or work on your tan. For those daring enough, there is the opportunity to go swimming in Piha’s large surf waves.
As we are already so close to the sea, why not get a taste of some of its inhabitants? Join us for the best fish’n chips in town. We’ll round the day off with a visit to Kitekite falls, a massive 80 meter heigh, 3-tiered waterfall.
