Our company is an international film sales agency dedicated to the worldwide sales of award-winning films and television shows. Rapid growth has seen the company develop from just a niche documentary sales specialist to a fully fledged film and TV sales agency with a network of global buyers including TV buyers and film distributors that stretches from New York to Seoul.
The key to our success has been exclusivity and an unrelenting commitment to quality. Our agency continues to maintain its exclusive documentary films catalogue that comprises award-winning festival type documentaries that include Oscar winners such as “The Blood of Yingzhou District” which has been licensed to over 27 territories to date and “Freeheld”, the 2008 Oscar winner. The films represented by us deal with a multitude of subjects from social issues to character-driven POV documentaries. The wide-ranging genres of these films are however united by their high quality and compelling content. An important criterion in the selection process for the film catalogue has always been the power of the film to affect an observer’s worldview on significant universal or personal issues.
Our agency advises on all aspects of licensing, sub-distribution negotiations, festival strategy, global sales for completed projects as well as pre-sales and international co-production financing for projects in development. In terms of feature documentaries and films, our approach is to develop a long-term, comprehensive strategy from concept to film festival debut, to theatrical release and ultimately programme and DVD sales. As a filmmaker’s representative, we are focusing intensively on each project it undertakes and values regular communication with the filmmakers it represents. Relevant festivals and markets attended include TIFF, AIDC, IDFA, DOK Leipzig, MIPTV, MIPDOC and MIPCOM.
Intern Duties
In order to face the challenge and optimize the workflow, the company’s IT processes need to be mapped and analysed. The analysis is required in order to ascertain if the current IT process can be improved upon and if a new application (Database) will be necessary. At the moment we are working with Excel Sheets, Word Documents and Microsoft Office to record pertinent data dealing with films, filmmakers and buyers.
The following reports need to be realized: a test report, a plan of implementation and an advice proposal. The advice proposal will contain advice about the optimization of our current processes and other opportunities for improvement in the long term.
