We work with companies in the Marine, Building and Consumer Electronics industry.
Intern Duties
Whilst at our company the intern will work on a variety of design and development projects in the areas of consumer products, marine, industrial & architectural.
The ideal intern is a creative and innovative problem solver with a good understanding of the design process and the fundamentals of product design. They are eager to learn new things and fast to adapt. They show initiative and can work well by themselves.
They will have the opportunity to learn & undertake the following tasks: Conceptual Design – Sketching, Design Development – 3D CAD, Layout Design & Presentation, 3D Rendering & Animation, Engineering Drawings, Product Specs, Product and Market Research.
They should be able to read and interpret a project brief and collaborate well with colleagues, engineers, manufacturers and other key project stakeholders. Good communication skills and attention to detail are essential. They will learn to prioritise and work within time restrictions and deadlines.
They should be comfortable working for a small company, and participating at every level. They should be outgoing, down to earth, honest, and trustworthy and most importantly know how to have a laugh and a good time.
A basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials is essential. Also, basic software skills are necessary for Solidworks & Adobe Products. They will develop their skills in these programs and will also be introduced to project management software.
The intern will gain experience working as a part of the product development process and have the opportunity to see something they have designed go through to prototype or production stages.
