Covid 19
The situation surrounding COVID 19 is a rapidly changing one and the team at New Zealand Internships is continually monitoring the situation. For all our inbound programs – we are following the latest government guidelines and we will only proceed bringing people in New Zealand once travel bans are lifted.
PLEASE VIEW THE MOST UP TO DATE TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS HERE
Yes, you can. In order to make sure that our customers are not afraid to book internship programmes with us in these unknown times, we will offer free programme re-bookings and programme cancellations to all those who make a new booking with a start date from April to December 2020.
* The offer of programme cancellation or free programme re-booking applies in these cases only if there’s a travel ban at the start of your programme.
Looking for something straight away? How can we still help?
Remote Internships
We don’t want you to miss out on your internship and career development, just because there are travel restrictions in place due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus). So we have added two new programmes which means you can still do a placement, you won’t even need to leave home. These are the following:
1. Start with remote
We will look for a placement and you can start your internship remotely. When travel restrictions are lifted, the company that you are doing a placement with may be able to welcome you into their office where you can then sit next to your colleagues and talk to them in person as you work together.
2. Remote Internship Program
As long as you have access to a solid internet connection and a device that you can work on, then you can carry out a remote internship.
By working together with your school or University, this can also be a way to get the credits you need to pass that stage of your course. However, we can only facilitate that if we know what your requirements are in advance of your placement.
If you are motivated and organised, then it does not matter that you may be in a different country or time zone to the company you are doing a placement with. You will build on and improve essential professional skills such as time management, problem solving, team work and collaboration. And of course, professional verbal and written communication.
An added bonus is that when travel restrictions are lifted, the company that you are doing a placement with may be able to welcome you into their office where you can then sit next to your colleagues and talk to them in person as you work together and solve problems.

You will work alongside a supervisor within a company, digitally; Using online video tools, instant chats and emails.
You will carry out project work that will assist the company in your chosen industry and gain valuable insights.
You can put the educational/ theoretical knowledge that you have learnt in the classroom to use in the real world.
